British Label Expands Across Capital
British outerwear label Aquascutum has followed up the announcement that it is set to relaunch its made-to-measure service by unveiling plans for a new store in London’s West End. The brand will occupy two floors of a 4,141sq ft space on Brompton Road, which will stock its full men’s and womenswear collection. With AMD Architecture handling the interior, the store will combine “high quality, bespoke furniture and fixtures,” with a contrasting “raw all-white interior,” finished with elements mirroring its Great Marlborough Street unit, such as the wall panelling and chandelier. Luxury fitting rooms will also be present on both floors of the new store. Speaking about the opening, chief operating officer Mark Taylor said: “The opening of the store on Brompton Road marks the third new store in London in the past year, following the successful opening of our Great Marlborough Street and Jermyn Street stores.” “In line with our core strategy of maximising our retail presence across Central London, this opening marks another important timeline in the 163 year history of the brand.” After opening its first menswear only store in March of this year, Aquascutum revealed initial plans to open a West London store earlier this month. Aquascutum’s newest retail location at 15 Brompton Road store is set to open in mid-December of this year.
