British Brands Collaborate On Winter Capsule Collection

A brand steeped in heritage, Harris Tweed has lent its iconic fabric to a variety of fashion collaborations over recent years, taking a Great British classic and bringing it bang up to date. For Christmas 2014, it’s the turn of online giant ASOS to team up with the Scottish fabric producer.

Covering clothing and accessories, the 15-piece capsule collection is split into two sections: the first comprising classic styles in heritage cloths and the second being “more modern and street inspired”. Traditional pieces come in the form of Herringbone and check blazers and charcoal and black suits, while the contemporary reworking comes through as a mix of joggers, bomber jackets and overshirts.

Accessories including caps, backpacks, satchels and knitted hats also feature in shades of blue, grey and burgundy, as well as checked and colour-blocked weaves.

While ASOS and Harris Tweed have collaborated previously on smaller lines, fans of the two brands can expect new styles with four new Harris Tweed fabrics exclusive to ASOS.

Prices range from £60 – £200, with the full line set for release December 22 at ASOS.
