Outerwear Brand Get Technical For AW14
Modern fabrics are the focus of the latest collection from heritage menswear label Baracuta. The British firm’s AW14 range introduces a selection of classic styles in newly developed technical materials.
Under its Ivory Label, the outerwear brand has re-imagined the G9 Harrington jacket in a form of Melton wool designed specifically for the new season. Meanwhile, original features such as the tartan lining, umbrella yoke back and collar buttons have been carried over.
Barapel, a waterproof fabric created by the label in the 1960s, has also been revived and used on the new G10 raincoat.
Colour ways are made up of classic navy, beige and brown as well as brighter greens and reds.
A statement from Baracuta said its designers looked to the British military for “a constant source of inspiration”, and have worked to maintain technical features used across military clothing.
Other pieces making an appearance in the collection include the G4 Harrington jacket. The brand revisited its G3 style earlier in the year by teaming up with designer Margaret Howell.
The Baracuta AW14 collection is available to buy online now. Prices range between £279 and £805 for Harrington jackets and £399 and £475 for trench coats.
