Brands Reunite For Chuck Taylor All Star Update
Converse has once again teamed up with Italian fashion house Missoni to produce a range of four hi- and low-top styles for autumn/winter 2014. This time around Missoni’s signature zigzag prints have been transferred on to the sports brand’s Chuck Taylor All Star shoe in a variety of colour ways. A mix of black and white and colourful styles – in faded tones of purple, green and blue – make up the line. Weaved textures seen across Missoni’s knitwear are also present, contrasting with Converse’s clean rubber soles and edging. The pair’s latest offering for autumn/winter 2014 is just one of several collaborative collections, having first teamed up in late 2009. Both have since reworked many of Converse’s classic styles together, including the Pro Leather and Auckland Racer. Earlier this year, the duo launched a redesign of Converse’s Jack Purcell style, which also featured Missoni’s iconic jagged weave. The designs debuted on the runway at Milan fashion week for autumn/winter 2013. The Converse x Missoni autumn/winter 2014 collection launched exclusively online in the US via the Converse webstore and Nordstrom on August 4th and is set to hit other selected retailers from August 28th. A UK release is earmarked for September, with prices reported to range between £50 – £60.
