H&M has confirmed David Beckham will make an appearance at this Sunday’s Super Bowl. However, Britain’s biggest sporting export will not be on the field. The 38-year old former MLS star will be debuting a new interactive ad campaign for his Bodywear line. A 30-second pitch for the SS14 collaboration will run during the second quarter of the Super Bowl on February 2nd. The innovative ad is set to feature groundbreaking T-commerce technology from Delivery Agent and Samsung Smart TV, which will allow an estimated audience of 90m to shop instantly from a commercial on TV for the first time. Daniel Kulle, President of H&M North America spoke about the company’s thrill to be “back in action at the Super Bowl” and how they will be bringing their A-game with “the world’s top style icon and the best quality bodywear to the largest stage in the world.” H&M has collaborated with many designer brands and icons in recent years, producing lines that have been affordable for the high street market. Signing a 2-year contract for his collection in 2012, David Beckham joined a growing list. Previous names have included Karl Lagerfeld, 2004, and Madonna, 2007. The $4m (£2.4m) slot will show nine styles for the fifth season of Beckham’s run at H&M in a clip shot by Director Nicolas Winding Refn, best known for his movie Drive. The advert will show on February the 2nd during the 48th Super Bowl. British-based NFL fans will be able to watch the game live via Channel 4 or Sky Sports.
