Underwear Firm Launches Wimbledon Print

Derek Rose is serving up two new underwear styles ahead of this year’s Wimbledon. The luxury brand has created a commemorative print to mark the start of the 128th edition of the tournament. A racquet and ball motif appears in white, red and navy colour ways in two variations across the brand’s boxer brief cut. Dubbed the tennis hipster, the model is made from fine gauge Pima cotton and finished with manual welt hems and a closed front. A reference to past winner Bjorn Borg can be found with the striped waistband, designed to look like the headbands worn by the Swedish player. A spokesperson told FashionBeans the decision to create the mini range came from the current third generation Managing Director Sacha Rose’s experience on the court at the south London venue. “Rose competed there in the past as a junior, so we decided to add a print to our summer collection.” “Wimbledon is an occasion that’s simultaneously British and international, classic and contemporary, and fits well with both our own ethos as a brand and the interests of many of our customers,” they added. Derek Rose, whose stockists include Harrods, Selfridges and Harvey Nichols, was founded in 1926 and specialises in silk and cotton nightwear, loungewear and underwear. The Tennis Hipster briefs are available to buy exclusively on Derek-Rose.com, priced at £31.
