Dover Street Market Gets Second Round Collaboration
Dover Street Market has taken stock of a second collaboration from Erik Schedin and Comme des Garçons. Scandinavian designer Schedin first teamed up with the Japanese label earlier in the year through its Shirt diffusion line. The original black on white designs, created to celebrate the tenth anniversary of Schedin’s low-top leather trainers, have now been updated with inverted colour ways. Maintaining the same silhouette and paint stroke motifs, the updated styles feature an all-black rubber sole and 100 per cent leather upper. Swedish-born Schedin has a long history with Comme des Garçons. The brand’s designer retail complex Dover Street Market was one of the first to stock his footwear in 2010. The simple trainer designs gained a reputation for their clean, unbranded look, after being unveiled in 2004 as part of his Beckmans College of Design graduate collection in Stockholm. Schedin’s partnership with Comme des Garçons Shirt is just one of several collaborations for the Japanese label this year, which has already worked with the likes of Pharrell Williams and Supreme. All three pairs in the Erik Schedin x Comme des Garçons autumn/winter 2014 collection are priced at £220 and are available at Dover Street Market’s online store now.
