Sam Riley Named Face Of Latest Campaign

British actor Sam Riley has been revealed as the new face of Ermenegildo Zegna. The 34-year-old takes over from Ireland’s Jamie Dornan by fronting the Italian brand’s AW15 Couture campaign. It is Riley’s first big modelling gig in six years, having made his debut with Burberry Prorsum back in 2008. The father-of-one, who is currently starring opposite Angelina Jolie in Maleficent, has been shot by dutch photographic duo Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin for the images. The pair, working under the name Inez & Vinoodh, has previously worked with several high-end brands including Lanvin, Gucci and Givenchy. Head of design at Zegna, Stefano Pilati, served as creative director for the project; with art direction from Dsquared2, Missoni and Nike collaborator, Giovanni Bianco. The Italian label has opted for the same four-image layout seen in its previous campaign. Spring/summer 2014 also introduced the ‘right hand man’ theme, which has been carried over to the new season. Grey is the dominant colour throughout the campaign. Riley and the other models wear looks in varying tones of the colour against a boardroom setting. Though tailoring is the main focus, one shot features Riley in a casual black and grey parka with a white fur trim. The full collection will be available in Ermenegildo Zegna stores and online at zegna.com from August. Prices for the line are yet to be announced.
