Italian Brand Releases Online-Only Collection

Luxury Italian fashion house Ermenegildo Zegna is attempting to give its online presence a push by releasing an exclusive shoe collection. The three versions in Zegna’s mini-range, each based on an athletic runner-style, are light and flexible, with uppers in blue, orange, grey, and white. Panels of leathers and suedes have been fused with materials including mesh and nylon, and sit on top of an advanced XL Extralight rubber sole in pops of yellow and orange. According to the brand, the e-store only line takes inspiration the CĂ´te d’Azur, most commonly known as The French Riviera. The area in southern France is widely recognised for its wealthy visitors, reflected in the use of crocodile-print trims. Designed and produced in Italy, the models also feature a perforated toe detail and lace up front. Founded in 1910, the brand is currently managed by the fourth generation Zegna family, with headquarters based in fashion capital Milan. In 2012 Stefano Pilati joined as head designer, having jumped from the same position at Yves Saint Laurent. The firm’s website recently launched a weekly video series giving men fashion tips and advice. The latest installment, titled ‘How to wear suede sneakers’, has been released to accompany the new collection. The trainers are available exclusively at Zegna.com now, priced at ÂŁ370 per pair.
