Evisu SS14 Lookbook

Japanese denim brand Evisu is back with a new look collection for SS14, after leaving the fashion market to re-group.

The label, founded in 1991 by Hidehiko Yamane, was widely known for its painted seagull emblem, used on the rear leg of all its jeans.

New images released by the firm show a less logo-heavy offering, a move that builds on its previous re-launch in 2009.

Evisu’s first production line only allowed fourteen pairs of jeans to be produced per day, with each of them having the seagull hand-painted on them by Yamane himself.

The SS14 mainline combines clean tailoring with deconstructed garments, using softer, casual fabrics. This relaxed feel is epitomized in the accompanying lookbook, which features a denim plaid suit, complete with trousers, jacket, and waistcoat, as well as other plain tailored denim pieces.

In an earlier interview with FashionBeans, Rhys Davis, European sales director, and assistant in product design said: “The tailored products such as the blazers are a really exciting development. The collection takes a modern approach to menswear and this is a great example of the new direction.”

Evisu’s new collection is available now online at EVISU.com as well as at the brand’s Newburgh Street store, London.
