Gagliardi Taps Inter Milan Star for Ambassador Role

Inter Milan skipper Javier Zanetti has joined a growing list of celebrities kitted out by Mediterranean design label Gagliardi.

The former Argentina captain was recently presented with four made-to-measure formal suits at a match between the Serie A team and Sassuolo at the San Siro stadium.

It is expected that Zanetti will now wear the Savile Row-inspired label’s SS14 collection at all upcoming formal public appearances.

The partnership developed after the Champions League winner visited the brand’s showroom in Malta.

Brand Manager Samuel Borg, who was on hand at the tie in Milan, hopes the association with the 40-year-old will aid the firm’s international growth.

“I have followed [his] career closely, so when we were approached to provide him with formal attire it seemed the perfect opportunity to associate the brand with an influential icon,” he added.

Zanetti is now in the same stable as Rugby World Cup winner Jason Robinson OBE, who later went on to become a Gagliardi ambassador worldwide.

The move could mean big news for the clothing label, which is part of the Bortex Group, if reports of a move to Chelsea Football Club for Zanetti are true.

Discussing the new deal with Gagliardi, the footballer said he is excited by the idea of forming a long-lasting relationship with the firm’s tailors.

The SS14 range, which includes suits, shirts, knitwear and accessories, is available to buy online now at, with prices for tailoring starting at around £120.
