Gagliardi Spring/Summer 2014
A label born and bred in the Mediterranean, Gagliardi know a thing or two about dressing for warm-weather climes. This season’s spring/summer 2014 range has been inspired by the fashionable Italian coastal resort of Amalfi, which is renowned for its production of Limoncello, superb sea food and spectacular coastline. While remaining true to traditional tailoring techniques, pieces are given a modern twist and brightened up with flair and colour, prints and pinstripes, plus the odd polka dot. The palette embraces the typically nautical shades of navy and white, with dashes of yellow, sand, pink, burnt orange, sky blue and stone helping bring outfits to life while channelling that highly desirable Riviera aesthetic:
The Jackets
Fabrics are a finely balanced mix of sturdy and soft, with blazers featuring everything from bengaline and hopsack to baby herringbone. Lined exquisitely with coordinating colours and silks, the jackets shield shirts well, while their contrast under-collar complements whatever is worn underneath. Seersucker stripes, on trend gingham/windowpane checks and de-constructed denim versions are designed to get you noticed.
