Hackett London Spring/Summer 2015
The influence of sport was on show at Hackett’s SS15 preview this week. The British brand took part in London Collections: Men, using the event to debut 27 new looks to an invited audience from the fashion industry. Gentlemen’s Sport, staged at the Armoury House, celebrated competitive games, with the focus on the male spectator, who Hackett describe as: “The gentleman who is in control, the owner of the sailing team or stable who participates by orchestrating events and by being the driving force behind these winning teams.” The show opened with sounds of horse racing before models took to a faux grass runway, dressed for events in the British sporting calendar. A number of nautical looks were followed by equestrian-inspired outfits, before inspiration from the Henley Regatta, Boat Race and cricket appeared. Tailoring dominated with full suits and separates in slim and fitted cuts. Accessories including leather bags were also on display. Brand founder Jeremy Hackett walked the runway alongside a selection of models in red and white polo uniforms to bring the display to a close. The SS15 collection will be available to buy from December at Hackett London stores and online at Hackett.com.
