Hanro is celebrating its 130th anniversary by announcing details of a New York-inspired menswear collection. The brand believes it has captured the big apple’s urban cityscape and 24-hour lifestyle in the AW14 range. References to the city stretch from Wall Street’s suits to Williamsburg’s laid back style. Items have been named after different Manhattan neighbourhoods and places of interest including East Village, Times Square and Bryant Park. East Village features lounge pants with a vertical grey and navy line print, as well as an accompanying long sleeve granddad t-shirt. Pieces in the Columbus Circle group aim to bridge the gap between lounge and day wear. They include a deconstructed two-button blazer and matching slim sweat pants in mocha. The Swiss brand is known worldwide for its lounge, night and day wear, available in a variety of fabrics including cotton, cashmere, wool and silk. Robes, t-shirts, sweatpants and underwear from Hanro have previously been seen worn by the likes of Tom Cruise and George Clooney, with prices from £43.50. A special Universe of Hanro collection specifically for its 130th anniversary has been confirmed for release in October, details of which will be made public later in the year. Hanro AW14 will be available from mid July at the brand’s only UK store on South Molton Street, via more than 100 stockists including Harrods, Harvey Nichols and John Lewis, and online at Hanro.co.uk.
