Eighties Gym Staple Stages Return
Bosses at sportswear and clothing label Head are hoping to capitalise on nostalgia by reviving the brand’s Monte Carlo bag design from the eighties.
The holdall, which first debuted over 30 years ago, is now part of a new contemporary lifestyle line being rolled out by the American firm.
Made from leather look PU fabric with perforated panels, the style features a single main compartment with double zip access as well as additional side and front zip pockets.
Details include carry handles with a popper fastener, detachable shoulder strap, silver metal zips, zip pulls, rings and clips and a discreet logo.
In a bid to make the bag more accessible outside the gym, designers have traded previous bold colour ways for subtle black, navy and white options.
Head’s category manager for sports bags, Carron Williams, said: “We are really excited to launch Heads’s new contemporary range of bags this year…the new range of Monte Carlo bags bring Head in-line with the latest trends in men’s fashion. The new range are sophisticated, stylish and can compliment a huge range of looks.”
Head operates several divisions across different sports and also sells shoes, accessories, eyewear, watches and toiletries.
The Monte Carlo bags are available to buy now from the Head eBay store and from ASOS priced at ÂŁ54.99.
