American Installation Comes To UK

J.W. Anderson’s New York window installation has made its way to London. The Irish designer’s blue geometric block display, which made its debut last year, can now be found at Dover Street Market until mid-June.

Anderson, whose previous work includes an eight-piece capsule collection for Mr Porter, has also produced a three-piece T-shirt collection to accompany the launch.

The west London retailer recreated the original white walls in the store’s window area, before filling the space with blue block designs.

According to the label, the geometric sculptures take inspiration from machinery and robots. Made from foam, they feature cut out circles and aim to blur the lines between 2D and 3D, creating a setting that is “industrial yet graphic.”

The launch came ahead the company’s appointment of Simon Whitehouse as its first CEO, who joins from the likes of Matthew Williamson and Diesel.

To run alongside the display, the 29-year-old has produced three limited edition T-shirts, each priced at £140.

The white cotton items are minimal in design, mirroring the window. Each features a single shape in a sky blue colour.

Two feature rectangles, while the third uses a trapezoid shape, all with circular white cutouts.

The window installation will remain in place until 13th June, at which point it will relocate to its permanent home at Dover Street Market’s Ginza store in Tokyo.

All three T-shirts are available to buy now from Dover Street Market London and online at
