Jockey Autumn/Winter 2013
Underwear innovators Jockey has released its AW13 menswear collection. The latest offering is split into different lines, featuring updates of the brand’s signature briefs, trunks, boxers, pyjamas, long johns, bags and robes.
The AW13 ‘USA Originals’ collection focuses on Jockey’s heritage, with Chicago’s jazz scene as the theme. Classic American flag colours are present throughout, with items interpreting the patriotic symbol through varying patterns. For instance, a short trunk, priced at £15, carries a red, white and blue checked print.
The ‘International’ collection takes wears to Canada and the Arctic. A predominantly blue palette is combined with warmer tones to represent landscape and scenic destinations. Bark and wood prints are used in a yellow short trunk design. Priced at £15, these have circular design showing the rings of a tree trunk.
Jockey, which was the first to feature waistband branding, began production in 1876. It now carries more than 600 underwear and loungewear styles. Despite originally manufacturing socks for lumberjacks, in 1900 it branched out into underwear. In 1934 Jockey established itself as a household name by inventing what is now known as the Y-front brief.
The AW13 range is extensive and affordable with price points around £15 for underwear, running up to £100 for robes.
The full line is available to buy at Jockey.co.uk and at stockists, including John Lewis and Debenhams, throughout the UK.
