Katie Eary Spring/Summer 2015
Katie Eary took a walk on the wild side with her Dallas Buyers Club-inspired SS15 menswear line at London Collections: Men. Referencing the Oscar winning film, Eary’s ‘Rodeo’ range aimed to bring the western look into 2015 with a runway presentation at Victoria House. Eary, a graduate of London’s Royal College of Art, continued her signature style, which she describes as “glamorous streetwear”. Colours were bright, with pink, orange and yellow used to create a sunset spectrum on pieces, including silk rodeo shorts. Jeans and denim came in slim and skinny cuts, but referenced the Cowboy era with light and bleached washes. The 1970s also made an appearance with peace signs and reflective glasses in orange and pink. Elements of Navajo were present with fringed leather jackets in purple and nude, picked out by the designer as one of the key pieces for the season. Eary’s previous lines have focused on wildlife with leopard print patterns and animal motifs. The designer tweeted previews in the run up to the show, with several more backstage shots following after. The SS15 menswear collection will be available from December from stockists including Mr Porter and Harvey Nichols, as well as online from katieeary.co.uk.
