Music Star Designs Special Edition Watch

British musician Labrinth has turned watch designer for a one-off charity project with Swiss watchmaker Raymond Weil to raise funds for Haringey-based cultural arts and education foundation, Kori. The Beneath Your Beautiful singer, whose real name is Timothy Lee McKenzie, has created a special edition version of the brand’s Freelancer timepiece using a 42mm stainless steel case, satin finished rose gold PVD plated bezel and crown and brown leather strap. The inner dial shows off the 25-year-old’s musical ties with a three-dimensional equaliser pattern in matte grey. Each purchase will presented in an exhibition case featuring Labrinth’s signature. “We are delighted to have joined forces with such as inspirational musician for this special design project,” said Raymond Weil CEO Elie Bernheim. “The special edition timepiece Labrinth has created combines creativity with classicism and is a true reflection of his character. We very much enjoyed working with Labrinth on this project and cannot wait to see the response to this partnership at Baselworld,” she added. In addition to being available to buy online, priced at £1,695, Raymond Weil plans to auction two special editions of the Labrinth timepiece in the final three months of 2014. All proceeds from the events will go directly to the Kori charity.
