Luxury retailer MatchesFashion has launched a collaborative boot collection with outdoor footwear brand Sorel for AW14. One half of the six-piece range is dedicated to menswear styles with three high and ankle cuts models taking on a “raw industrial aesthetic”. In addition to traditional military colour ways, details include a removable ThermoPlus felt inner boot, camouflage rubber saw-tooth outsole and hard wearing d-rings. MatchesFashion head of menswear Damien Paul explained the reason for choosing the footwear brand for its latest collaboration: “We’d seen a growing interest in sturdier, more practical footwear last winter, so wanted to turn to a brand with a real heritage in that area,” he said. The fashion business, which was founded over 25 years ago, currently operates 14 brick-and-mortar locations across London as well as an international e-commerce store. Canadian boot specialist Sorel has previously collaborated with the likes of Concepts, Colette and Bape. The MatchesFashion x Sorel collection is available to buy online now, prices start at £130 and range up to £220.
