Luxury Leather Brand Opens Biggest European Outlet in London

London is now home to the largest European outlet for luxury accessories label MCM. The German brand reopened its boutique inside Harrods this week, debuting more space and a complete redesign. The 1,130sq ft space, located on the lower ground floor near the Egyptian room of the department store, is designed to complement the nearby Sloane Street flagship. An updated look, seen in other MCM outlets, has been carried over into the revamped location, with gold metal details and polished wood used for the interior. The boutique also features a designated lounge area, used to display the firm’s backpacks, key chains and other leather goods. Among the offerings available in store now is the limited edition Muchn Cute Monsters World Cup collection, which debuted in June to coincide with the 2014 football tournament. The move is a part of a larger European expansion plan from the brand which has seen doors open in Paris and Zurich and will continue into Berlin, Munich and Frankfurt later in the year. The launch is welcomed by Harrods, which is readying to expand its menswear department over the next nine months. The autumn/winter 2014 range of leather goods, bags and accessories from MCM is available from this month at the outlet as well as other stores and online. Prices range from around £100 for key rings, hitting several thousands for exclusive designs.
