Moschino Joins London Collections: Men

Jeremy Scott has caused upset among Italian fans of Moschino. The newly appointed Creative Director has confirmed a decision to take the firm away from its home in Milan for the first time in thirty years. The fashion house, which recently made headlines for its ‘fast food’ themed clothes, now plans to give UK press the first look by showing at London Collections: Men as early as next month. WWD reported a company spokesperson describing Scott’s affinity for the city, calling the British capital “instinctive and inspirational”. This will be Scott’s debut menswear line, having only previously had an outing with womenswear in February. The 39-year-old joined Moschino last year and is credited with turning around the fortunes of the brand. Scott’s own eponymous label has had a successful ongoing relationship with adidas Originals since 2008. The two have produced footwear and apparel collections, the most recent of which contains a leopard print high top, revealed in April. It is not yet confirmed whether sportswear will play a part in the SS15 line. Moschino’s first menswear line under the American designer will show on the second day of London Collections: Men 2014. The event runs from 15-17th June.
