MQT Taps Into Festival Style
Third generation denim specialist MQT is gearing up for the festival season with the introduction of its first all-weather camo print poncho. The outerwear piece, made from raw camouflage denim fabric, started life as an experimental project by the brand’s design team. After a small release last season, the family run company was inundated with requests from retailers and customers, leading to the decision to carry the piece into the SS14 line. Fans could be about to see more of the print from MQT; the brand told FashionBeans that it is looking to “continue its innovative approach to designing and manufacturing new projects with its ‘house camo’.” MQT, which stands for mastering quality tradition, was built on the principles of authentic European manufacturing. The label is well known for its brave designs and attention to detail since forming in 2008. Originating from South America, the poncho was used by the military in the early 19th century for protection against the wind and rain. Today it has become an iconic symbol of British festivals such as Glastonbury. The MQT poncho is priced at £75.00 and is available to buy from the brand’s online store.
