Shoe Designer Joins Menswear Event
Footwear designer Nicholas Kirkwood is the latest name to be added to the schedule for London Collections: Men.
The designer will debut his fourth men’s collection when he joins fellow shoe brands including Jimmy Choo and John Lobb next month.
A presentation for the Kirkwood’s SS15 line will be held on the opening day of the bi-annual men’s fashion event, Sunday 15th June, between 9.30pm — 11.30am. A venue is yet to be announced.
Previously the Fendi and Erdem show contributor was only available via an installation during three day stint.
A graduate of both the Central St Martins and Cordwainers College, the 33-year-old launched the womenswear arms of his self-named brand back in 2005, with men’s following eight years later.
Each shoe from the British Fashion Council (BFC)/Vogue Designer Fashion Fund Award-winner is handmade in Italy. Kirkwood’s designs have become identifiable by the use of geometric shapes.
The brand has enjoyed significant growth in the nine years since its launch, with flagships in London, New York and Las Vegas opening alongside pop-up spaces in Paris, Miami and Tokyo.
Kirkwood has won acclaim for his work, receiving Accessories Designer of the Year at the British Fashion Awards in 2012.
A full schedule for London Collections: Men, which runs until Tuesday 17th June, is available on the BFC mini-site.
