Additional London Locations Part Of Menswear Label’s Expansion

Oliver Spencer will be available at a further two London locations by the end of the year, the brand has announced. The luxury menswear and lifestyle label plans increase standalone retail presence by fifty per cent, adding to its existing four stores. Expansion into the east and west of the city follows success at shops in Soho, Bloomsbury and Toronto. The exact location of the new units is yet to be confirmed, but they are expected to mirror the size of existing stores. The news coincides with the appointment of Peter Lynes as commercial director, who comes directly from the role of managing director at Peter Werth. Lynes has also worked in senior positions at the likes of Naked in Bed and Fred Perry. Further appointments within the Oliver Spencer team will also be made according to brand founder Oliver Spencer who told Drapers the addition of Lynes is part of “a strategic decision to add more staff”. Originally from Coventry, England, Oliver Spencer founded his label in 2002. Committed to British heritage, over half of the company’s lines are now produced in the UK. The self-taught tailor was recognised for his talent late last year, winning Best Menswear Designer at the WGSN Global Fashion Awards 2013 in December. He fought off competition from Meadham Kirchhoff, Christophe Lemaire, and Dries Van Noten. In addition its standalone stores and online presence, Oliver Spencer is also stocked in over 150 stores worldwide, including Harvey Nichols, Liberty, Mr Porter and Selfridges. Oliver Spencer will show its SS15 range at London Collections: Men on 16 June at The Old Sorting Office.
