Label Teams Up With Band For Campaign
Paul Smith has tasked British indie band Swim Deep with fronting the label’s AW14 pre-collection campaign.
The Birmingham-based quartet made its fashion debut this week in a video directed by photographer and filmmaker Harley Weir and styled by Man About Town Fashion Editor Danny Reed.
The clip features music from the brand’s debut album, Where the Heaven Are We, as well as tailoring, shirts and accessories from the British clothing firm.
Other pieces in the line include a short sleeve sweatshirts, slim trousers and jersey outerwear. A music note and flamingo motif appears throughout the range.
The launch comes just days before the 67-year-old designer is due to show his most recent offering as part of London Collections: Men.
Bosses at the firm have also confirmed Swim Deep drummer Zach Robinson will appear in the AW14 catwalk collection advertising campaign, due out later this month.
Pre-collections are becoming popular among several brands, with French Connection recently launching its first ever as part of a shakeup of its menswear division.
The Paul Smith collection is available to buy now. Prices range from ÂŁ150 for a t-shirt to ÂŁ825 for a faux-suede bomber jacket.
