Pretty Green Autumn/Winter 2014
Liam Gallagher put on a show at this year’s London Collections: MEN event. However, it was fashion rather than music taking centre stage.
The former Oasis frontman’s Pretty Green label presented its AW14 collection at London’s Beat Club. The venue, formally known as ‘The Speakeasy Club’, became a music industry favorite in the late 1960s, with fans including John Lennon and The Who.
The Beat’s rich musical heritage was perfectly fitting for the mod-inspired brand. Titled ‘The Audition’, Pretty Green;s AW14 offering consisted of 16 rock ‘n’ roll derived looks.
The brand’s signature faux fur trimmed parkas made a welcome appearance. Signature prints also featured, with paisley, liberty and even leopard applied to varying pieces.
The most eye-catching look was the oversized faux fur coat. The piece was inspired by John Lennon’s famous outfit, worn for The Beatle’s last ever gig on top of the Apple Studios Building in London back in 1969.
The evening was rounded off by a musical set from British musician Clint Boon. Guests drank cocktails all night courtesy of Ciroc vodka and Red Bull editions.
The collection will be available later in the year, both in stores and online at PrettyGreen.com.
