Raf Simons Partnership With Fred Perry
Following the success of his ongoing collaboration with Fred Perry, Raf Simons has designed a new spring/summer 2014 range for the British brand.
Dior designer Simons has been working with the wreath-fronted firm for nine seasons. The 29-piece SS14 range features a revamp of classic menswear pieces, combining Fred Perry’s recognisable style with Simons’ innovative patterns.
Traditional polo shirts, trousers and bomber/Harrington jackets have all been created in bright colours, vivid floral patterns and check prints.
Knitwear and shirting is also available. Jumpers with boldly coloured V-necks aim to give a smart silhouette a unique edge, while bright blue, white and patterned collars shirts add a quirky, statement twist to traditional formal styles. Representing both sides of the project, all carry the Fred Perry Laurel wreath.
The collection has been influenced by the approaching warmer weather, which is signalled by the use of bold, vibrant colour.
In contrast to the autumn/winter 2013 range, which focussed on American varsity designs, the new collection delivers more playful creations with the use of gingham checks and polka dots.
