Design Pair Celebrate Six Year Partnership
Raf Simons and Fred Perry have revealed a new 27-piece menswear range, their tenth joint collection in just over half a decade. The latest from the ongoing partnership features a mix of classic Fred Perry styles updated with prints and stand-out colour combinations for AW14. Colour-block pieces in autumnal shades contrast with tailored wool trousers and outwear in grey and black. Each design is finished with Fred Perry’s laurel wreath emblem in a complementary colour. Patches are also key to the collection, a mutual reference to Raf Simons’ designs of the early nineties as well as Fred Perry fans who “don patches in a subcultural way”. An accompanying campaign video offers a closer look at the textures and detailing within the collection, while celebrating the British brand’s tenth team up with the Christian Dior creative director. The pair first worked together in AW08, continuing until SS11 before taking a break and later reforming in July last year.
