Brands Re-imagine Vintage Suitcase Styles

In a rare collaboration for the brand, Reiss menswear has teamed up with luxury travel brand SteamLine luggage on a capsule collection of elegant suitcases.

Harnessing SteamLine’s love of vintage pieces and classic silhouettes for their inspiration, the limited line comprises two slick styles crafted in tonal shades of black.

Each piece is handmade from a variety of artisan materials – including recycled bonded leather, high-grain leather, canvas and Pasco (a material created from recycled wood) – and finished with brushed metal hardware. Leather front straps add to the vintage aesthetic, with stud detailing and metal fastenings giving the cases a traditional trunk-like feel.

Not just a stylish carry, though, functional features include TSA approved locks, silent trolley wheels and extendable aluminium handles. Coming in at £375 for the Carry-on and £395 for the Stowaway, these cases are both accessibly priced, beautifully made and a great option for next summer’s luggage.

While British retailer Reiss has rarely collaborated with other brands under its menswear arm, with the last being a knitwear line with UK-based mill Alfred Brown, its latest collaboration is a well-matched extension of its sophisticated selection of men’s apparel.

The Reiss x SteamLine Luggage collection will be available from March 2015 at selected Reiss stores, as well as online at Reiss.com and SteamLineLuggage.com.
