Shirt And ‘Stache Collaboration To Hit High Street
High street fashion chain River Island is hoping shoppers will dig deep for its latest range of shirts, created in partnership with men’s health charity Movember.
The thoughtful fashion project, due to launch in October, a month before the start of the 30-day facial hair challenge, comprises four designs priced at £35 with 30 per cent of profits being pledged to the foundation.
Included in the styles, created in house with input from Movember’s Partnership Manager, Dan Cooper, is a French navy with white polka dot print, lightweight charcoal crosshatch, red, blue and yellow check, and classic white option.
Each comes in a long-sleeved cut in 100 per cent cotton with a button-down collar, moustache embroidery on the sleeve gauntlet and Movember ‘M’ on the chest pocket and placket.
To coincide with the launch, the retailer’s Oxford Street store plans to host a one night pop-up barbershop.
River Island CEO, Ben Lewis, spoke of the “synergy” between the two brands, adding it makes for “the perfect partnership”.
Movember’s UK country director, Sarah Coghlan, said: “This collaboration will mean every Mo Bro can look sharper than ever as they sport a moustache to raise awareness and funds for men’s health.”
Founded in 2003, Movember aims to raise awareness and funds for men’s health programmes related to prostate and testicular cancer. To date it has contributed more than £345m to over 800 projects.
All four shirts in the River Island x Movember collection will be available to buy in stores and online from the first week of October.
