Players at Manchester City will wear unusually cheap suits to work for the next two-years as part of a new deal struck between the football club and formalwear chain T.M.Lewin. It has been announced that club stars including Vincent Kompany, David Silva and Samir Nasri will wear the brand’s navy blue Perry suit, which retails at £329, to games and press conferences across Europe until the end of the 2015/16 season. The two-piece tailoring is made up of a jacket featuring a slim-cut with narrow lapels, and trousers which carry a flat front and rounded pockets. Both pieces are constructed from a mix of merino wool and mohair. In addition to the suit, T.M.Lewin will also provide Manuel Pellegrini’s team with shirts from its new super fitted range (£39.95) and tonal silk ties (£35). Other signings from The Barclays Premier League-winning side, such as Yaya Toure, James Milner and Bacary Sagna, can be seen in a behind-the-scenes video being measured up. The CEO of T.M.Lewin, Geoff Quinn, said he was “delighted” to add Manchester City to the business’ list of sporting partnerships, which also includes the England men and women’s cricket teams, Irish FA and Welsh Rugby Union. “To be working with the Premier League Champions is a particular honour and we look forward to helping the squad maintain their world class image off the pitch, during what we are confident will be an exciting and successful season for them.” Manchester City made their debut in the new formal kits ahead of a recent game against Arsenal. The Perry suit is available to buy in T.M.Lewin stores and online now.
