Tumi London Flagship & Golden Ticket Competition
Travel accessories brand Tumi brought more of America to the UK when it called in a New York-based designer to create the interiors for its new Regent Street store.
Award-winning Dror Benshetrit worked on both floors of the 2,400sq ft London flagship, taking an approach “consistent between the product, interior, design and absolutely everything that is a part of the brand’s DNA”.
According to Benshetrit, the new shop mirrors the design philosophy of the brand. “Whether you’re creating a bag or a store, you’re designing for that same customer.”
Tumi’s location features high ceilings and marble plank floors, laid in an asymmetrical pattern. Luggage is displayed on wall-mounted shelves and on island units in the centre of the space. Smaller accessories including wallets and tablet cases are housed on glass-topped display units.
The luggage firm currently operates stores and concessions across the UK, as well as in Germany, Brazil and Japan.
To celebrate the opening, Tumi is running a competition to send two winners on a transatlantic trip, valued at £45,000.
Los Angeles, New York and the British Virgin Islands are part of the itinerary, with business class flights provided by American Airlines, five star accommodation and spending money included.
Hopefuls are required to find and photograph special golden Tumi suitcases hidden across the capital. Each case found, photographed and posted will count, up to the maximum of five entries per person.
