Universal Works x Millican Team Up Again

Serial collaborators Universal Works and Millican have teamed up once again, adding to the pair’s SS14 collection.

The British brands regrouped after several successful ventures to create a bronze organic and camo print canvas version of the Jan Daypack, first introduced in 2012.

Driven by functionality and an outdoor lifestyle, the new daypack features a zipped security pocket in the hood, 15 inch laptop sleeve, and two external bottle holders. A drawstring top opening and padded straps are also included for comfort.

In a joint release the firm’s say the relationship celebrates “a shared passion for honest tradition”.

It is not the first time the two names have partnered. The joint project previously saw the introduction of the George The Crew briefcase/shoulder bag hybrid and Dan The Musette shoulder bag.

Universal Works, which recently introduced its debut denim line, is responsible for incorporating the leather grab handle on the top of the latest model, while a yarn dyed organic cotton lining is typical of the bag experts.

Founded in 2008 by a couple inspired by outdoor travel, the Millican brand has grown to include cooler bags, iPad covers and camera cases.

The company demonstrates its knowledge of the outdoors with the Jan Daypack by including features such as a waterproof rain cover.

Both Universal Works and Millican are currently selling the bag, along with other models, via their online stores, priced at £165.
