Two Teaser Images of Power and Freedom Campaign Released

Italian fashion house Versace has unveiled a first look at its AW14 campaign, titled Power and Freedom.

The newly released images were shot by Turkish/Welsh photographic duo Mert Alas and Marcus Pignut, who work under the name Mert and Marcus.

The pair has previously been used by the likes of Louis Vuitton, Kenzo and Giorgio Armani. They also directed the music video for Madonna’s 2012 single, Girl Gone Wild.

Mert and Marcus worked directly under Donatella Versace. The 59-year-old vice president said the new campaign expresses “the power and freedom of Versace today.”

“The men’s campaign stands for a man’s right to be whoever he wants to be,”
 she added.

According to a statement, power, seduction, freedom and glamour are all themes explored in the images, qualities at the heart of the brand since its launch in 1978.

Only two previews have been released by Versace as a teaser for the line, which will be rolled out in full later in the year.

The first features model Filip Hrivnak in a distressed two-tone red jacket with accompanying trousers and accessorized with a studded belt and boot.

Another shows Hrivnak alongside Daniel Van Der Deen in western-inspired black leather chaps and biker jackets covered in metal stud details.

The full AW14 collection will be available worldwide via Versace stores and online at Versace.com from the end of August.
