Infamous Japanese streetwear label A Bathing Ape is sticking to its signature graphic prints for spring/summer 2015, revealing a bold sportswear-inspired collection for the coming season. Classic illustrations such as an ape’s head and varsity lettering have been kept in the mix, alongside all-over camouflage print in updated shades of red and purple. However, the brand also known as BAPE has introduced some new eye-catching motifs, including colourful square and spot patterns, a large clock face graphic and panelled leaf-print pieces. While the whole collection hails the urban sportswear roots of the label, founded by producer Nigo in 1993, the addition of casual shirting and clean denim add a contemporary feel. Athletic accessories then pull it back to its beginnings, with a G-Shock watch, running shoes, coordinating print rucksack and gym bag providing the all-important finishing touches. A Bathing Ape’s spring/summer 2015 is set to launch at its own-brand stores, online and in select stockists worldwide early 2015.
