We’ve got some good news for fans of trainers and romance. Asics is pre-empting all of your Valentine’s Day shopping woes by launching a new Valentines Trainer Pack ahead of February 14th. Comprising two bold versions of its ever-popular Gel Lyte III and Gel Lyte V silhouettes, the pack offers an all-over red design and subtler white option, both constructed from synthetic suede, leather and mesh. If you were thinking of giving chocolates or flowers to your loved one next month, you’ll find them printed on the inner sole of each shoe, with the textile detailing continuing to the ankle support. Finished with the brand’s signature chunky rubber sole and coordinating laces, we’re betting lovers of nineties nostalgia and the decade’s street scene will find themselves enamoured with these love-themed kicks. Always keen to surprise its fans, this isn’t the first time we’ve seen Asics release something original recently – the Japanese athletic brand launched a reflective ‘Nyte-Lyte’ trainer in October 2014. Keep an eye out for the Asics Valentines trainer pack when it launches in limited numbers at The Chimp Store this February, priced at £100 a pair.
