Japanese Retailers Rework The G9
British outwear label Baracuta has offered up its G9 silhouette for reinvention this season, putting the iconic jacket in the hands of Japanese retailers Isetan, Ships and Edifice.
Each brand has slightly tweaked the classic design, reworking the patterned lining and adding modern details to produce a limited edition capsule collection for spring/summer 2015.
Isetan’s take on the G9 sees the usual Fraser Tartan lining removed and replaced with a floral print from British department store Liberty London, while original features such as the umbrella back vent and double fastening collar remain untouched.
Next up is clothing store Ships, which has opted for a Chapman Blue Tartan cotton lining and adjustable cuffs adapted from the Baracuta G4, in place of the original ribbed style.
Rounding off the collection is a British-inspired iteration by Edifice, which uses a striped cotton fabric from British shirt makers Thomas Mason to line the piece.
All three jackets are available to buy at baracuta.com now, each priced at £335.
