Heritage Brand Launches New McQueen Collection
British label Barbour has revealed its new Steve McQueen range for spring/summer 2015.
Celebrating the actor and his passion for motorcycles – McQueen famously sported a Barbour International jacket during the Six Day Trials race of 1964 – the latest collection features a mix of classic pieces worn and inspired by the star.
Items such as the Steve Dot shirt nod to garments originally donned by McQueen, which can be seen in photographic imagery across T-shirts in the range.
Other items transformed from original photography include the McQueen Crew Sweat, coming in bold shade of yellow to match McQueen’s own, and waxed jackets, which reigned supreme amongst motorcyclists in the sixties and beyond.
Barbour International launched the commemorative range back in autumn/winter 2011 to align with the brand’s 75th anniversary, making its SS15 line the eighth to draw inspiration from the life and times of the silver screen icon.
The full Collectable McQueen range launches next week online and at Barbour stores across the country, with prices ranging from £34.99 to £299.
