Outdoor labels look to the sea for inspiration

Teased back in November, Barbour’s collaborative spring/summer 2015 collection with White Mountaineering is now available to buy. The range from the British heritage label and Japanese outdoors specialist revisits some Barbour classics, updating them in new colour ways with added dashes of print. Key pieces include the Quilted Stitch Jacket – a padded outerwear silhouette that Barbour fans will instantly recognise – in military brown and navy blue, which has been updated with leather elbow patches, suede trims and a camouflage graphic lining. The same camo print has been applied to the internal lining of the Casual Poncho Jacket, which comes in a high shine indigo shade, complete with hood and a pull cord hem. Rounding off the collection is a selection of casual pieces, including the Field Shirt in blue: a simple lightweight button-down finished with camo elbow patches and two chest pockets. Drawing on Barbour’s maritime heritage and White Mountaineering’s love of the outdoors for inspiration, backpacks, shorts, T-shirts and waxed jackets within the line also incorporate a nautical print, which has either been used all-over or for subtle accenting. You can pick up the Barbour x White Mountaineering collection now at Stylecreep, with prices ranging from £70 to £549.
