American accessory brand Coach has revealed its first ever men’s ready-to-wear clothing collection, launching the new line through luxury e-tailer Mr Porter. Its inaugural collection, designed by creative director Stuart Vevers, sees classic outerwear staples given a luxurious update, with statement styles ranging from bold shearling-lined car coats to military bomber jackets. Exploring the “tension between utility and luxury”, the edited range comprises practical pieces with the US influence you’d expect from Coach, fashioned in luxurious but still functional fabrics like leather, felt and cotton. Three hero designs, including an eye-catching two-tone shearling coat and panelled corduroy jacket, will launch exclusively online at Mr Porter. But the range is full of other standout pieces for the season, including a camouflage utility jacket and cosy shearling flight jacket. Rounding off Ververs’ “vision of wearable urban modernity” is a range of leather bags and accessories. We’re particularly taken by the smart portfolio, tote bag and backpack, which blend the classic and contemporary in precisely the way that’s made the brand such a womenswear hit.
