Pop Art Brought To Life Through Footwear

The work of artistic legend Andy Warhol has been brought back to life through a collaborative collection with iconic American brand Converse. This week, we’ve been treated to a sneak peek at the upcoming line, which interprets Warhol’s pop art pieces on to the blank canvas of Converse’s classic Chuck Taylor shoe. Across the four-piece collection, the American artist’s infamous Campbell Soup piece features in three variations, including two all-over prints in blue and red, and one white design with a cluster of the cans on the heel. The fourth version has a hand-drawn feel, mirroring the Converse that Warhol screen-printed himself back in the 1980s. Adding another clever and personal dimension to the collaboration, the initial shots are captured in a grainy Polaroid photo style – the method that Warhol used to capture many pop culture figures during his career. Pricing information is yet to be revealed, but keep your eyes peeled for the full collection when it drops worldwide in late January.
