The street art scene of Los Angeles provides inspiration for Levi’s Made & Crafted collection this season, with the denim brand looking to the “idea of applying and removing graffiti” as its main reference point.
For spring/summer 2015, the label pays homage to “the process of doing and undoing, and the sense of afterglow that resonates on buildings and walls around the world”, producing a range of worn and distressed-effect pieces including denim, shirting, T-shirts and outerwear.
Prints in the premium line are taken directly from abstract street art designs, joining faded spray paint effects and a neutral palette of washed-out whites, camel, black and blue.
Highlights include the camel bomber – perfect for layering over a simple white tee this SS15 – along with the rugged white ‘Type II’ trucker jacket, complete with a contrasting camel leather collar.
