Monochrome is a key focus for River Island’s latest Studio collection. The spring/summer 2015 offering from its premium sub-brand utilises a palette of soft grey, black and white across a sophisticated range of sleek and minimal pieces. Clearly influenced by sportswear, the new range encompasses sweatshirts, relaxed shorts, mesh-detail bomber jackets, basic tees and cropped trousers, with graphic prints and contrasting colour-blocked panels also thrown into the mix. Contemporary cuts and premium fabrications give the line its luxe edge, along with striking motifs revived from last season incorporating elegant flashes of gold. While the brand’s latest collection doesn’t stray too far from its AW14 Studio range, the addition of clever layering and improved streetwear styles cements this release as one of its strongest to date. Look out for River Island’s spring/summer 2015 Studio collection when it lands in stores and online from mid-March.
