British actor Sir Michael Caine has provided the inspiration for Thomas Pink’s autumn/winter 2015 collection. Along with the backdrop of the metropolis that is London and some of its best-known landmarks – The Coach and Horses pub in Soho is amongst those name-checked – Caine has inspired the British tailoring brand to create “an aesthetic that is daringly bold and eclectic in style”. The sharp stylings of a 1960s gentleman are not subtle, with paisley prints, eye-catching checks and a fine dogstooth pattern taking over shirting, paired with tweed and velvet accessories for a real retro aesthetic. As a result, we’re treated to a palette of rich blues, burgundy and greys, with strong flashes of orange, mustard, raspberry and other jewel tones providing a contrasting statement. Accompanying the more formal pieces is a selection of knitwear and outerwear for the colder months, including cashmere-blend cable knit jumpers, an Italian-made reversible jacket and a bonded wool raincoat. Look out for the full Thomas Pink autumn/winter 2015 when it lands online and in stores later this year.
