Tailoring Brand Launches Commemorative Collection

Fifty years after the passing of Sir Winston Churchill, tailoring label Turnbull & Asser has released a commemorative collection, including pieces worn and loved by the British Prime Minister himself. Recognisable to most will be the ‘Siren Suit’ – a sartorial choice that became synonymous with Churchill’s war time wardrobe – updated as part of the two ‘Formalist’ and ‘Informalist’ arms of the collection. The Informalist option comes crafted in an all-in-one style from Johnston’s of Elgin Donegal wool, trimmed with leather buttons and lined in the iconic Churchill silk spot. Meanwhile, the Formalist suit is formed from 14oz navy wool, finished with a peaked lapel and top welt opening pocket. In addition to the classic suiting, the line comprises a selection of bow ties, four limited edition pocket squares and luxurious dressing gown. For those who want a real collector’s item, Turnbull & Asser has also teamed up with luggage specialist Globe Trotter to create the ‘dandy’ case: a leather-trimmed set lined with the signature Churchill spot print and red braces. Turnbull & Asser’s Churchill collection is available now online, with both Siren Suits available as part of its made-to-measure service at its Jermyn Street store.
