Following on from its pared-back capsule collection back in October, American label Sperry Top-Sider has teamed up with Gothenburg-based Velour by Nostalgia once again – this time on a more eye-catching range. For spring/summer 2015, the two brands have turned out floral designs inspired by Velour’s current season line, applying its Hugo Flower Jacquard Japanese denim print to Sperry’s CVO and CVO Chukka styles. The simple floral print brings a fresh, modern touch the classic silhouettes, with contrasting shades of soft and deep blue providing an understated splash of colour for the imminent warmer months. However, while the shoes’ uppers have seen themselves re-imagined, original detailing such as Sperry’s signature tongue branding and white rubber edging has remained. Since its last team up with Velour, Sperry has spread its wings to collaborate with LA label Band of Outsiders and photographer Gray Malin on further reinterpretations of some of its most iconic styles. The Velour x Sperry spring/summer 2015 collection is available from April 22 at sperry.com and select stockists, priced at ÂŁ85 for the CVO and ÂŁ90 for the CVO Chukka.
