Marble trainers sounds more like a method used by the mafia than the result of a stylish footwear collaboration, but that’s what UK retailer End has produced in a limited edition tie-up with New Balance. The pair’s first ever joint venture sees New Balance’s classic 90s runner get a luxury update, inspired by the same material used to build everything from Rome’s Pantheon to Michelangelo’s David. Sculpted from smooth nappa leather with sandy pigskin suede overlays, the White Marble trainers sit atop a two-tone foam midsole and gum rubber outsole. To mark the launch, a one off Carrara Marble presentation box has been commissioned, which will be given away at an event in End’s Newcastle store on 18 August. Good luck carrying that home. The End x New Balance White Marble collaboration will be available in store from 18 August and online from 20 August, priced £139.
