Good news, gamers! Vans has gone all two-player on us, collaborating with Nintendo to make the Japanese tech giant’s classic characters available on a whole new platform. However, instead of a console, this time round you’ll find plucky plumber Mario and his friends on a range of footwear, clothing and accessories, celebrating the early days of video games. Inspired by Nintendo’s first console, the NES, the lineup is packed with 8-bit nostalgia and graphic prints featuring characters from Super Mario Bros., Duck Hunt, Donkey Kong and The Legend of Zelda across classic Vans shapes. The lace-up styles also include Nintendo game logos on the tongue and ‘game over’ printed on the waffle sole. If you want to get your hands on a piece of the 80s action, we suggest a bit of online button mashing when the collection drops this week, or head down to one of Van’s stores. The Vans x Nintendo Collection drops in stores and online on June 3.
