Footwear in 2016 is all about ditching the extravagant and over-designed for simple, high-quality kicks. Iconic shoemakers Oliver Sweeney arrive right on-trend with its latest collection, applying the brand’s unique British lens to athletic simplicity.

For SS16, Oliver Sweeney is expanding its trainer line with a 10-piece collection of luxury, minimalist shoes. Inspired by the spirit of British sport, the range is fabricated in patriotic colourways and athletic silhouettes.

Despite being the label’s first foray into the more casual footwear market, these new additions all live up to the company’s decidedly high standards. The trainers are Italian made with the finest leather, in the same factory and by the same artisans who create its formal line.

Each new style is being rolled out individually – first to drop is the Osimo low-top. Created from premium leather using hand-finished techniques, the Osimo unites the best of Italian craftsmanship with a versatile Margom rubber sole.

The rest of the SS16 collection will feature the sleek profile and minimal uppers done so expertly on the Osimo. They also include luxury features like discreet, stitched curves, calf leather linings, padded collars and hand-stitched detailing.

Available online at and in Oliver Sweeney retail stores from February 2016.
